Qingdao locals call public bathhouses 'zaotangzi,' which are unique social venues. Old-time Qingdao residents are accustomed to going to the bathhouse in the morning to soak, drink tea, and chat, spending half a day there. This slow-paced lifestyle is gradually disappearing in today's fast-paced society, but it still remains in some old communities.
